The Virgin Islands Department of Education congratulates Cristina Marie L. Senosa, who was named V.I. State Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022. Mrs. Senosa is a native of the Phillipines and is the first international teacher in the Virgin Islands to receive the prestegious award. She is a secondary Social Studies teacher at the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School and takes great pride in impacting the lives of her students, learning Virgin Islands history and culture, as well as being an enthusiastic teacher-leader among her peers. Mrs. Senosa is the founder of a private Facebook platform with more than 1,600 members, e-Connect (educators Connect), which brings educators together from across the globe to discuss education and share ideas on teaching and learning. During her current tenure as V.I. State Teacher, she has presented at various national and international meetings.
