The Virgin Islands Department of Education will hold its State Teacher of the Year selection ceremony on April 1. As the two district teachers prepare for the occasion, they are both embarking on a series of activities to promote an area of public education that is important to them.
Ms. Michaelrose Ravalier, St. Thomas-St. John District Teacher of the Year, will explore the importance of forming public-private partnerships in order to support V.I. public schools, while Mrs. Zarah O'Reilly-Bates, St. Croix District Teacher of the Year, will highlight and promote the importance of having a math lab on each school campus that provides ample resorces for teachers to be able to help students learn.
