The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) advises the public that students at the Lockhart School on St. Thomas in 4th to 8th grade will be dismissed immediately today, March 13, 2024. The early dismissal is due to instructional interruptions caused by a teacher job action, non-sanctioned by the American Federation of Teachers Local 1825.
We kindly request that parents pick up their children as soon as possible. Transportation will be available for students in 4th to 8th grade who rely on school bus services.
Students in grades K- 3rd will remain on campus for regular school operations until 2:45pm. Only 4th to 8th grade students are being dismissed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
